Pilates for Active Older Adults

Pilates offers many benefits for an aging population

A client recently approached me and asked if I would consider doing a special class for people in her age group who are a little too nervous to join a general group. She also wanted to know if we would work with people who have limitations and restrictions on movement.

I gave her a resounding “YES OF COURSE” we just have to figure out a time that works for everybody!

Having been in this industry for over 25 years, Pilates is the thing I go back to time and time again. It resets my body’s framework so everything else I do is just a little bit better.

An article from UCLA Health points to the benefits that Pilates offers for an aging population:

  • Reduces risk of falling
  • Supports good posture
  • Decreases your risk of chronic disease
  • Improves your emotional health

The Pilates Loft wants to help! We think trying something new can be a little more fun when you’re in a small group with people who have the same goals. If you have an interest in trying a low impact exercise, are aged 60 and older, and want to make everything “just a little bit better” this is the class for you.

Contact us here if you’re interested in joining a small group for beginners.
