Pilates for the Holidays

During the holiday season, stress can increase, and our regular outdoor activity can decrease. Pilates can be a healthy bridge to spring.

As we enter the holiday season, there's no better time to approach stress head-on. One specific way to reduce stress is in aiming toward the New Year, instead of waiting until January 1 to make beneficial life edits. While the change in temperature, seasons, and habits is inevitable, you can control how you move through these, navigating toward better health, more comfort and improved mental and physical fitness. Think of January 1 as your marker where you experience and notice change, instead of just a place to start.

Mental Health and Wellness

From its originator Joseph Pilates: “Physical fitness is the first requisite to happiness.” And over 100 years later this is still accurate. Endorphins are released when you exercise, and they relieve pain, reduce stress, and improve mental well-being. At the Pilates Loft, we create an environment free of mental stress, where you can join us in the moment for a positive and beneficial experience.

Longevity and Physical Fitness

Also from Joseph Pilates, “If your spine is inflexibly stiff at 30, you are old; if it is completely flexible at 60, you are young.” The Pilates Method is a system that helps strengthen the body’s framework, transforming pain to comfort, and stress to calm. Pilates workouts are enjoyable, and feature low-impact strengthening and lengthening methods. You'll stand stronger, sit taller, and replace pain with comfort.

Integrate Pilates into your life and ease into the holiday season with more comfort and joy! When you get to New Year's resolutions, success will be easier to achieve.
